Entrepreneur & Visionary Leader
Argentina
In 1994 at the age of 24, Federico Seineldin founded Openware (http://www.openware.biz), an enterprise that provides services, support, consulting and training in Unix environments, which has become a leader in its field in Argentina, and is the creator of the umaNa® line of managed security solutions.
Openware initially offered support to companies in the middle region of the country. Soon after, with the arrival of Internet access to Argentina and, taking advantage of the experience of Openware’s engineers in TCP/IP protocols and Unix platforms, a business unit was launched offering Corporate Internet Services to approximately fifty customers.
The entry of big ISPs, Carriers and Telcos to the Argentine market encouraged Openware to turn its focus into marketing Consulting Services and Net Infostructure Solutions for IT platforms (Network Computing and Network Infrastructure).
Openware helps Corporate Enterprises (vertical markets) and Service Providers (carriers, ISPs, ASPs) in the development and transition to business models based on net technologies.
Openware’s experience in net environments, IP solutions and Linux/Unix platforms, resulted in the development of its own line of managed solutions, through a business unit under the MSP model.
Thus, umaNa®, a line of managed security solutions was created.
umaNa® -“Internet-enabler Platform”- allows companies to get IT security solutions when internal resources are not available, while avoiding costly expenses in hardware, software and human-resources training that soon become obsolete.
+ Attaka® provides managed vulnerability assessment platform
+ Blockware® offers managed Security monitoring (firewalls/IDS) on a 24/7 basis
+ Soporta® provides offshore infrastructure management services.
+ Arrasa® handles managed-penetration testing.
The scalability of this new business model will allow Openware to expand internationally

Without question, Federico Seineldin has already proved himself a successful entrepreneur, having won several regional awards while accumulating an impressive client roster. Despite the small size of his company, Federico has dealt intelligently with large corporations, leveraging their technology to offer extremely valuable services in an important space that links telecommunications and information technology. He has thus been able to specialize as a first mover in a niche market while differentiating his company and brand from other general competitors. His company, Openware, initially provided consulting and implementation services through its integrative IT frameworks, but now seeks to expand its product scope and regional presence by offering security managed services. These MSP´s services targets SMEs, themselves often key sources of entrepreneurial activity. (Federico´s Endeavor Foundation brief)
