IMATI is the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Information Technology of italian CNR (National Council of Research). I am currently a PhD student at the University of Genova - Scuola di Dottorato "Ingegneria Elettronica, Informatica e delle Telecomunicazioni" (Electronic, and Telecomunication Engineering and Computer Science") about "Scienze e Tecnologie per l'Informazione e la Conoscienza" (Sciences and Technologies for Information and Knowledge). In particular, my activity is related to:
* Semantic based research (in particular retrieval of 3D shapes) and applications for the semantic web;
* development of ontologies and reasoning techniques for domains inherent to 3D shapes.
The main effort is being done within the NoE AIM@SHAPE (IST-2002-556766), with the general aim of advancing research towards semantic-based shape representations and semantic-oriented tools to acquire, build, transmit, and process shapes with associated knowledge.
