I'm a professor of Public Sector Innovation at HAN University in the Netherlands. I also work as a innovation consultant. I've worked with many companies (Fortis, ING Bank, KPN, Logica CMG, Philips) and governments (most ministries in the Netherlands, city councils of Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, etc). This year I'm working a.o. for Apple and Arboned.
In my research I'm working on two books:
- In search of excellent government: lessons from the worlds best run governments
- Knowledge Economy Guide: How to create smart countries and cities
The fieldwork for these books takes place in 2008 and 2009. In order to collect material I'll be doing my fair share of traveling. If you can help me to find examples of excellent government and knowledge economy-building please let me know.
My area of expertise are: innovation in both the public and the private sector, national and regional innovation systems and knowledge economy. My skills are vision & strategy development, trendwatching and helping people, teams and organisations to (restart to) imagine their bright future. I've done over 300 lectures on innovation both in the Netherlands and abroad.
