- FORTRAN Programming, Debugging and successful implementation of the company's raw material nesting application, OPTINEST, on an 80386 based PC running SCO Xenix/Unix System V. The Nesting application was originally designed on a VAX/VMS mainframe.
- Wrote several Unix shell scripts to facilitate downloading machine code punch and laser commands/instructions to PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) from the Nesting application to complete the raw material fabrication process.
- Successfully ported the company's nesting application to various platforms and Operating Systems (OS's) including HP-UX, IBM-AIX, Apollo Systems (Later HP), NCR Tower using BSD Unix, and Data General.
- Established communications among the various aforementioned platforms and their OS's to enable them to communicate seamlessly over the same Ethernet in order to facilitate customer system installations after the porting, compilation and debugging phase of the OPTINEST code for each platform was completed.
- Assisted the design engineers with communications from the Digital Drafting tables to the various platforms so that customers would be able to digitize their parts into the parts library of the OPTINEST application.
- Performed onsite installations and setup of the OPTINEST applications with subsequent customer hardware and software support.
