Frank Rousseau (frank.rousseau[at]free.fr)’s Summary

What is an ideavelopper ?
It's just neologism of mine to name an hybrid between a software developer (strong technical background acquired from my formation) and an idea "expresser" (coming from my experiences). I mean by idea expresser, someone who can clearly define what you think and communicate it efficiently.

What about my experiences ?
I have worked as consultant or developer on a wide range of subjects around data analyse, artificial intelligence and visual effects such as : peer-to-peer heterogeneous database, embodied conversational agent, eye motion capture, BI requirements analyse, ...
These projects needed good communication skills (oral and written) to understand needs, to realize what was asked, to statisfy stakeholders and to ensure a good useability.

And hobbies ?
My main hobby is webdesign. I built several websites and try to keep in touch with latest technologies and design tendances.

Am I looking for opportunities ?
Open minded, fully invested and very adaptive I am interested in every kind of your projects which can make me discover a new area of IT technologies and/or visual art, specially at international.

APEC is an organization which provides services to professionals, young graduates and companies to find jobs or for recruitments.

Attitude Studio produces full 3D-movies and animated series. The company is famous for its realistic character animation due to their use of high-end motion capture technologies.

Finding a way to improve stabilization of the eye motion capture videos was the main objective of my internship. First, I learned all the eye motion capture pipeline, and did some improvements Then I worked on a software solution.
Parallely, I set up a validation procedure to ensure that the software stabilizes well the videos.

Rémi Brun, my supervisor, gave me all the freedom and the help I need to lead this project from the begin to the end : I worked on every steps : analysis, conception, development, validation and documentation.

At this time the team was looking for a way to auto-process communication signals via human gestures. To illustrate their work, they built a 3D Embodied Conversational Agent (ECA) named Greta (http://www.iut.univ-paris8.fr/greta/).

My mission consisted of porting the ECA software from Windows to Linux platform (50 000 C++/C code lines). The project was technically oriented.

This internship was a first research and team working experience with French and foreign colleagues (from Ireland, Germany and Italy). Arguing with them was mandatory to understand the purpose of the laboratory researches and the way the software works.
