    ► NOTE: This role is provided as just one example, typical of my consulting practice since 1992, and in my prior banking career. I periodically fill similar roles in Fortune 100-500 companies, as well as medium-sized businesses of various kinds. Personally review / approve all credit lines $5-mn and above, setting interest rates / terms, ensuring loan safety, company viability, security. Manage challenging / bad debt situations to avoid loss or recover against security.
    ► ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
    Overall corporate portfolio rose 7% during year, but we boosted interest income 11% (annualized), recovered $39-mn in previously "irrecoverable" debt, reducing the delinquency rate to zero. Rescued dozens of small / medium businesses. Turned-around 3 major companies with credit lines totaling $180-mn. Personally took control of largest company ($100-mn credit line), enabling it to survive and prosper on credit line of $50 million thereafter. Region won Head Office award for "Best Regional Corporate Credit Performance" that year, even with economy in recession.

    Recommended / helped implement a decentralized structuring of entire Division (previously 8 regions), in only 2 years. Recommended / implemented several major profit improvement initiatives. Over a 3-yr period:
    • Cut Operating Expenses 14%.
    • Boosted Other Revenue 11% (excl. interest).
    • Raised Net Profit 25% (pre-tax).
    • Boosted Market Share 50%. Turned around sliding market share in Consumer Lending portfolio, from 12.5% national share to 25%, using a special marketing incentive program.
