I was working at the call support line for the "13" in France, answering customer support line, as my Dad was driving the maintenance for Normandie. I programmed on my spare time, a PC that was sitting between the consumer database, and the telco commuter to automate the line test. sending a message to this PC with the phone number into the message was triggering a voltage, courant and capacity test on this metalic connection to the customer phone. this is one of the best hack I ever wrote, it went over every safety protocols and increased dramatically the prevention of disconnection of the french land line phones.
