Managed up to 20 professionals at a time, including Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Technical Services Engineers, Systems Engineers, an Operations Manager and Helpdesk staff.

Led the design and development of the company's core application platform, which drove over 50% annual year-over-year revenue increases on multiple occasions during my tenure and scaled to process several million direct mail touches per day.

Supported sales and implementation of the platform at dozens of Fortune 500 companies, including AT&T, Lowe's, Marriott and Best Buy.

Managed a team of engineers in five states and overseas to build a graphically rich browser-based video production application.

Implemented a proprietary agile development methodology, a new release process, a hierarchical requirements/bug tracking system, and an incident management process that are still in use five years later.

Wrote production code (both user interface and server-side) for the company's personalized online video/advice product line, used by Discover Card, Sears, Carnival Cruise Lines and Nike.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENT: Designed architecture and wrote prototype code for a government document tracking system.

Helium consulted for a range of clients, providing user interface design, technology product concept development, and software engineering.


KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Led the development of a product prototype for Macromedia (now Adobe Systems).

Built an extranet security infrastructure for AXA Rosenberg (global equity management).

Led the design and engineering of a mobile phone application for WeatherNews (weather information, analysis and decision support products and services).

Spearheaded Helium's only public relations campaign, which resulted in coverage in the San Jose Mercury News, Fortune magazine, and three local television stations.

Contributed directly to proposal development for several key accounts which were successfully closed.

Built and configured the company's web/email server.

Quokka Sports covered major international sporting events on the internet and broadband networks and pioneered the realtime transmission of sports data and media to the web.


KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Managed software engineering, testing, and operations of the "Action Tracker" which delivered realtime data, results, commentary and images of the Sydney Olympic Games to NBCOlympics.com, making NBC the first place on the web to show results from Sydney, and resulting in a screenshot of the application appearing in USA Today.

Managed the development and operation of similar realtime data and media systems for the official web sites of CART (open wheel auto racing) and MotoGP (motorcycle road racing).

Guided the selection, customization, and implementation of the company's digital media asset management platform.

Coordinated the integration of technology and engineering teams with two acquired companies.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Researched, designed, developed, marketed, sold, integrated, deployed, and supported the product to over five nonprofit organizations; the application was in use for over 10 years.

Built a custom application to analyze data from 360-degree feedback questionnaires for an executive management consulting firm.

Recruited and managed subcontractors on both product implementations and custom engineering projects.

Established the company, wrote and designed the web site, performed all the bookkeeping.
