Currently I'm working full-time for Solid (www.solidla.com) in Santa Monica. I've worked as a freelance Flame Artist between various projects since 1997. Visual effects work includes national commercials; network studio image campaigns, Upfront and on-air promos; independent and feature films.
Global Shift Entertainment is a Joint Venture with Golden Roads, LLC. Plans include creating digital media for the planet's first sustainable live music venue, a renovated landmark with a 40-year live music history called State Bridge. This state-of-the-art, outdoor venue along the Colorado River and Rocky Mountains will be a benefit concert every show.
In 2008, I traveled to Liberia and Kenya documenting new and existing humanitarian and fair trade projects (food, water, education, and micro-loan programs). Earlier in 2008 I produced, directed and edited HUB's 11-disc Global Empowerment Series, featuring speakers Kimmie Weeks, Michael Beckwith and Charlie Gay.
Education, work and life experience includes documenting surfers riding giant waves in the middle of the ocean and creating big wave surf films, producing live awards programs (XXL and Surfer Magazine Video Awards), shooting internationally (TV / Film production on the WCT pro surfing tour), and editing (Sublime's documentary, Quiksilver's Surfers of Fortune, TV programs).
I'm grateful to have worked with 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner / Grameen Bank founder Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Historian / Author Dr. Howard Zinn and many others, including athletes, artists, designers, inventors and humble effective leaders. While in college, I played varsity soccer, worked as a newspaper reporter and radio broadcaster. I also studied abroad in Costa Rica and completed an independent study of bias in the news media using communications research methodology. I've won awards as a writer, producer, cameraman, editor and visual effects artist (latest project news at www.nomads-cafe.com).

I discovered HUB shooting their inaugural 3-day conference in December 2007 and was blown away by their vision. HUB is a new model for business and humanitarian living - a company repurposing a network marketing model for sustainable giving to life-serving projects. I witnessed those projects firsthand in Africa in August 2008 while documenting food, water, education and microloan projects among many others with Kimmie Weeks and Shauna Kane. HUB is associated with Kimmie Weeks' Youth Action International, Larry Jones' Feed The Children, Zebiba Shekhia's Healing Bridges, Dr. Jean Houston's Social Artistry, Global Elders and Nobel Laureates Nelson Mandela and Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Mark Victor Hansen, Rev. Michael Beckwith, Spryte Loriano's Feed333.org and several microcredit organizations including Dr. Yunus' Nobel Peace Prize-winning Grameen Bank. Currently in pre-pre launch, HUB is gathering original founding angels on three levels through the end of February. HUB is a revolution of empowered people, inspired by purpose, for abundant profit that's shared to affect global change.

Surfline.com merged with and then split from Swell.com around 2002. Located in Huntington Beach, Surfline.com is the most popular wave forecasting company on the planet, serving surfers, boaters, lifeguards and coast guards on every coastline in the world. On January 19, 2001, perfect conditions arrived at an offshore big wave spot called the Cortes Bank, which had been monitored for over 10 years. Documenting the first 60ft+ surf session at Cortes Bank 100 miles west of San Diego was a once in a lifetime experience that landed on the front page of the LA Times the next day. The footage was also utilized to make two documentaries, the first for Swell.com with Jay Moriarity (R.I.P.), Flea, Gerlach, Snips and Laird. The second combined action, music and science for Surfline and a target high school library audience, "Making The Call: Big Waves of the North Pacific". (http://www.surfline.com/mtc/04/) The footage was also licensed to NBC Dateline and Activision.

This Webby Award-winning action sports internet start-up company was co-founded by Nicholas Nathanson and Jeff Berg, who signed up Steve Hawk to bring on the best in the surf, skate and snow board industries. What started as 25 or so in SF bloomed to about 110 employees in OC and SF, and spawned the XXL Big Wave Awards among other fun projects, like AMC Adrenaline Theater, The XXL Documentary and commercials for Monsterskate.com with Tony Hawk. After several ups and downs in the dot com world, Swell eventually evolved into a successful action sport retail destination.
