Technical Services Manager at Natural Resource Planning Services, Inc.
Gainesville, Florida Area
I have had to change areas of professional specialization several times during the course of my career. I consider myself a life-long learner, able to become a quick-study on new subjects of interest.
My past positions include public forester, environmental consultant, and consulting forester. My professional expertise over the years has included urban forestry/horticulture, plant taxonomy, wetland delineation and vegetation cover type mapping, CAD mapping, urban tree inventory, database and software design, computer network management/help desk, and GPS/GIS mapping.
I have a strong interest in tropical forestry/agroforestry and urban agriculture as these subjects relate to poverty relief - interests that are not satisfied by my current employment. To "scratch that itch" I travel on periodic volunteer trips where I can use my expertise to help educate people while learning about their life and culture.
Experienced in broadcast radio including on-air and audio spot production. Experienced public speaker.

As County forester I assisted public and private landowners concerning forestry and land management issues.
