COO - Chief Operating Officer at muchBeta
Portugal
With a large background on hardware and systems/network administration, and after starting a small company specialized in high quality, dedicated machines for image professionals (designers, architects, engineers), I held a "Web Project Manager" position at Seara.com (www.seara.com), for almost 3 years, gaining a whole lot of experience in that area.
After being involved in so many different aspects of the IT world, at this point I foresee myself always on the web business. I have many ideas for projects, websites and specialized systems and I know how I want to do it.
Now I've co-founded a web company - www.muchBeta.com. Let's give it a few months to see what it's capable of.
internet, project management, usability, design, interface design, information technology, e-solutions, web tools, social networks, professional productivity tools, business management tools, web 2.0 (social web), web 3.0 (semantic web)

June 2008 — Present (1 year 6 months)
My role is to manage, specify and control. Manage requirements, specify products detail and features behaviour and control quality.
All of this applies to the company's development operations, thus assuring the work done meets (at least) the work planned.

June 2005 — March 2008 (2 years 10 months)
The position I held at Seara.com implied:
- Deployment planning and goals setting;
- Guideline development for the whole project, usability and accessibility included
- Follow-up and evaluation of the work in progress throughout the deployment of web projects;
- If needed, mid-term renegotiation of terms and conditions, directly with the client;
- Recruitment, coordination and motivation of a team of developers;

June 2002 — May 2005 (3 years )
On a beautiful day, a friend and college pal of mine and I decided we could do better on high-end personal computers for image professionals (designers, architects, engineers) and game enthusiasts. So we started "Prostation Systems". "Prostation" stands for "professional workstation" and we based it on a sturdy, well defined philosophy that put customization, customer service and quality above anything else.
We "thought" there was a market for those products in our country - Portugal - but we were wrong. There's a small market for it in the USA and in the UK and perhaps in other countries, but no, not in Portugal, definitely.
Here, game enthusiats build their own machines because it's cheaper and 99% of image professionals use a "white box" - OEM, no-brand, generic machines, because they're really cheap.
The other 1% use only wide accepted and recognized brands like HP and Dell.
So we went out of business, after less then 3 years, and went on pursuing different careers.
