Fernando Koch’s Summary

I have over 17 years of experience in the IT industry with extensive experience in mobile services and messaging systems. Recently, I have been involved with the design of innovative solutions for mobile internet, including data traffic optimisation and analytics. I have proven experience with (i) system design, (ii) project development, (iii) project management, (iv) product support, (v) training, and (vi) entrepreneurship.

I received the Ph.D. in Computer Sciences (2009) from Utrecht University, collaborating with University of Melbourne, researching on models for the development of intelligent mobile services. Previously, I received the M.Sc. (1997) and B.Sc. (1993) degrees in Computer Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, researching on methods for intelligent management of computer networks.

My research interests are:

+ Artificial Intelligence: researching on models, architectures, and methods for agent-based computing; also interested in organisations studies, simulations, and cognitive sciences.
+ Mobile Computing: interested in intelligent personal assistants and solutions to "real world" problems, e.g. low-cost mHealth solutions and other ways to contribute to developing communities.
+ Distributed Computing: interested in management of cloud and grid computing structures; special interest in "green computing", i.e. solutions for energy efficient computing structures.

Fernando Koch’s Specialties:

(i) Preparation and presentation of sales material, including
Project Proposal, White-Papers, Datasheets, Product Positioning, and others.

(ii) System Design, Requirement Analysis, Solution Definition, Architecture, and Integration.

(iii) System Architecture for mid- and large- scale projects.

(iv) Training material preparation and training delivery.

(v) Software programming in Java, PERL, Visual Basic, and C++.
