Provide confidential, detailed written, oral and visually presented advice based on in-depth to committees of clergy and laity on issues of governance and closed church buildings, and assist dioceses in understanding relevant legislation.
• Provide and update briefings and guidance on legislative change, particularly on the pastoral reorganisation of the Church.
• Maintain and improve departmental website, develop a closed churches statistics database, manage staff members assisting with this.
• Respond succinctly and confidently to enquiries from the press, and members of the public, on matters of church governance policy and the future of church buildings.
• Organise national conferences and regional seminars for diocesan staff (ten since November 2007).
