- The Darfur conflict and the geopolitics of Sudan and Chad, as well as its implications for US and European security strategies ;
- Pakistan's geopolitics and the security issues affecting the Indian Ocean region and the Afghan-Pakistani border..

I regularly teach geopolitical analysis at COESPU's programme for peacekeeping studies (http://www.carabinieri.it/Internet/Coespu/), with special focus on Sudan and the Darfur question, European security, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Asymmetrical threats.
