Frances Foley’s Summary

The new web site for the Town of East Haven, CT. went live on St. Patrick's Day. Phase 1 of this project to present the static content and resources is complete. The community of about 28,000 now has a web site that provides information that citizens require. I developed everything in the web site from research, interviews, collecting content, photography, hosting, CSS and HTML, PHP programming and more. An innovative part of this web site is the Community Alert System built into the home page. Government officials can access a non-public link from any internet connection and post an alert message for the community on the home page. Police and Fire officials were happy to have this new tool for the community.The link is www.townofeasthavenct.org.

Phase 2 for this web site is providing all forms, agendas, minutes and reports as pdf files. The history of the town and more video and flash media will be further expanded in phase 2. To support this effort I have joined the East Haven Historical Society.

Two new organizations have been added to my client list, Hagaman Memorial Library and the East Haven Historical Society. I will be redesigning the Hagaman web site and creating a web presence for the Historical Society.

I was recently apppointed to the Southern CT Cable Advisory Board by the Mayor of East Haven to represent the interests of the town.

I continue to produce/edit and direct a monthly local public acces cable TV show and a companion web site and blog www.insidetheboe.com. This work is performed as a community service to provide information about local issues in education to the public.

In the past few years I was involved in the creation of online CT Historical and Irish Famine collections for Quinnipiac University.

I created a research oriented web site for the Bioacoustics Laboratory which is a collaboration between UConn and UCinn.

  I recently negotiated a contract to redesign the government web site for the Town of East Haven. Starting in January 2008. This project will define a new interactive level of services and information available to the citizens of East Haven via the internet.
