Academic Chair, Information Technology Programs Division, Academic Central Services at Higher Colleges of Technology
United Arab Emirates
For the past fifteen years, I have been a technical, project planning and educational consultant. I have extensive experience in both the academic training, vocational training and technical fields.
In the educational and academic arena, I have the ability to provide my students with a safe and comfortable environment to enhance their learning experience and increase their motivation to become self-learners. Teaching is one of my vocations. The other is dealing with people.
For the past fourteen years I have instructed a wide array of students (very poor level and slow learners to very high level and fast learners; high school to Master’s level and from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds). I have taught a broad range of subjects, from basic IT computer courses to complex design and networking subjects in the IT field; from Business Financial courses and Law in the Business field to Health/Bio/Chemistry related subjects and from History to Language courses in the Arts.
I have also administered program structuring, built effective course plans, developed curriculums, supervised accreditation procedures and implemented departmental policies to maximize effectiveness.
Concurrently in the IT Corporate/Industry, I have designed, implemented and managed LANs and WANs in both technical and Project Manager Capacities, gaining fluency in both the Technical and Managerial aspects of Management/ IT / and Telecommunications.
Currently, I chair the Information Technology Division at Academic Services, Higher Colleges of Technology. This is a unique position that deals with the IT programs, curriculums, accreditation, revamping of courses, etc... for a system of 16 campuses spread around the United Arab Emirates. It has provided me with a very fantastic experience of dealing with changes and hurdles in improving quality of the IT program.
