When I initially created my online fashion e-zines in the Fall of 2004, based on the notion of customizing style content for someone's fashion personality or "tribe", they were well received critically...but less so financially as I quickly ran out of money. To keep publishing my content, I started the Fashiontribes blog.
However, I quickly became as enamored with this fascinating new medium where the traditional barriers to entry in publishing - serious investment capital and a byzantine network of gatekeepers - were no longer an obstacle. Instead, anyone with a big idea and something to say was welcome to jump in and compete. And thanks to fortuitous timing and an incredibly persistent (stubborn?) streak that kept me writing and publishing day in & day out, I've been able to grow my blog to the point where it's my full-time job.

The New York City-based Editor-in-Chief & Publisher of Fashiontribes.com. As a long time fashion writer and critic, I was one of the first to receive full IMG press credentials to cover New York Fashion Week as an Internet publisher. As one of the Top 10 Fashion Blogs, Fashiontribes.com has been featured in WWD, USA Today, Reuters, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo! News, and on nationally-syndicated Radio with a Twist.
I was previously Senior Editor for Coolhunt.net, a global fashion trendspotting firm, where my byline as a Lifestyle Expert appeared in countless international magazines about fashion, beauty, streetfashion, lifestyle, and pop culture - including Marie Claire in Asia, Jessica, 25 Ans, GQ Taiwan, and Elle Girl Korea.
I also co-founded the Fabbies (Fabbies.org) with The Manolo (Shoeblogs.com), the first ever international fashion blog awards organized at the grassroots level by bloggers.
