Farzal Dojki’s Summary

Life is too short to be doing boring and ordinary stuff. Let one of the 6 Billion people work on that. I want to use privilege of having university educated parents (novelty in Pakistan during 1980s), excellent schooling, and 7 years spent in Austin and NYC to produce extra ordinary stuff!

I am passionate about delivery channels – from Branchless Banking and 24x7 direct insurance to mobile multimedia and social networking. I've worked at 4 start-ups in addition to Merrill Lynch and BearingPoint. These start-ups ARE:

1. amaana: amaana is the payment platform for emerging markets that bridges the gap between banked and unbanked populations (90% of Pakistan) and helps to digitize transactions being conducted at bottom of the Pyramid. Currently active in roll out of the technology for branchless banking venture, probably first ever in the region (Mideast/South Asia).

2. <STEALTH>: As an off-shore consultant for product design and engineering delivery for a web 2.0 US based media company. This will be the first ever known implementation of social networking linked X media site, where X=Stealth

3. PixSense: Responsible to manage the off-shore development center for PixSense, the best multimedia application you can have on your mobile phone. Roles included Engineering & Operations (including HR).

4. Trakker Direct Insurance: Employee 001, hired by Trakker Group to plan and execute the implementation of first direct insurance company in Pakistan, along the lines of Geico in US and Direct Line in UK. Awarded Brand of the Year (only insurance company ever) and has loss ratio of 20% compared to over 90% industry average. From technology to business process and financial forecasting, everything was either my direct responsibility or coordinating responsibility.

From time to time, I engage in Professional Consulting for product design, service delivery channels and BPR. Besides that, I write for international publications & teach at IBA as a visiting faculty.
