Joachim Farla is the Founder and owner of the Unified Communications Virtual User Group in the Netherlands (ucvug.nl). Joachim Farla also owns the central Unified Communications weblog in the Netherlands (unified-communications.blogspot.com).

Joachim has provided consulting and research within the Information Technology industry and with Microsoft for the past 11 years and is a 2-time Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) on Office Communications Server 2007. Joachim has been quoted, interviewed, and published in national press including Kennisportal, TechNet etc.

Joachim began his career at Arenda (Dutch Financial Company) and later on became a junior system engineer at ING Bank Netherlands. After that we worked for Ordina Network Management Services and Ordina Finance. In the last year of the Ordina timeframe he worked for Ordina Desktop Solutions as a special projects senior network engineer. The last five years he works as a Technical Infrastructure Specialist at e-office (Microsoft Gold Partner) focusing on the Information Worker products (Unified Communications, Office Communications Server and SharePoint 2007).

In his social live he loves gadgets and plays squash every week! Most of the time the weekend is blocked to play with Tygo (my son). When having some time left he loves writing technical UC articles or articles on the new way or work (work21) as human software organization engineer.

Joachim resides in Vleuten, Utrecht with his wife and his little boy Tygo Finn also known as the “Microsoft Most Valuable Baby- MVB” and is a member of the community the new way of work.
