GAE-REST is an open source REST API for Google App Engine, based on Ning's (now closed) Atom API and built to be simple to install and use on any Web Application using the Appengine platform from Google. On this project I have:
• wrote the project briefing, specs, requirements and milestones to be submitted to freelance-finder websites such as E-Lance and others
• interviewed coders and analyzed resumes from the candidates
• hired a talented remote Python coder and managed him through the project until the first releasable milestone was complete, with weekly status-update chats over skype to keep him motivated by exanging ideas, adapting the specs and making sure we met the deadline under the budget.
• code-reviewed the deliveries, merged the updates with my main trunk and contributed with some improvements
This was a side-project of mine to improve my managing skills, the project was all handled and built in 4 weekends since both me and my coder were under full time jobs.
