I'm a professor of computer science at UC Santa Cruz, and a member of the Storage Systems Research Center at UCSC, where I explore issues in advanced file & storage systems. I've been doing research in storage systems for over 20 years, and have written more than 90 conference and journal papers in the field. I have graduated five PhD students and over 15 masters students, and am always looking for new graduate students interested in storage systems and other systems topics. I have also served as an expert witness on several intellectual property (patent) cases in the storage industry.
My research interests include file & storage systems, operating systems, computer security, distributed systems, and computer systems in general, as well as information retrieval systems.
