“It’s been a very effective tool to chime in on what’s ‘going on’ in our industry. It’s like a virtual water cooler,” says Ernesto Gluecksmann (Twitter: [eglue]), principal consultant for Infamia Global Technologies Inc. in D.C.
“I have communicated with people I have met and many others that I have not, and I have gotten a mountain of useful information from them all,” he says.
Twitter also has become a source for business leads.
Someone Gluecksmann was following on Twitter “tweeted” (Twitterspeak for a message sent) that the person was seeking Web development help with content management software. Initial tweets led to further conversation, and Gluecksmann is now developing a proposal.
“It’s kind of a soft way of putting your message out there,” he says.
