Erik Wennerstrom's Summary
I have been working in the web/social media space for over ten years and I am just as passionate today as I was when I first realized the potential it had to transform the way the world operates. I started my web career in IT but moved toward the business/marketing side of it when I realized I enjoyed sitting at the intersection of the two worlds and developing strategies that meet both technical and business needs.
I thrive when it comes to explaining the business benefits of the web and social media to non-technical executives. One of the things I love about my work is when executives have that "a-ha" moment and realize the web can be an invaluable business tool and provide competitive advantage.
Having experience in both the technical and business sides of the web equips me to translate business requirements into successful web initiatives.
At the beginning of my career, I worked as an assistant to a high-ranking government official, dealing with many people on a daily basis. This taught me how to work beyond organizational lines and geographic boundaries to build effective internal and external networks.
I am also a Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) Certified Green Belt. I devised a process for website keyword selection that utilized Six Sigma methodologies and had immediate results in achieving top search engine rankings.

Consultant
ClickShopper.com
March 2003 – August 2005 (2 years 6 months)
The world of Internet Affiliate Marketing continues to fascinate me just as much today as it did five years ago.
I used this site as a personal playground of sorts and a place to try new things and enhance my skills. I was able to learn about internet marketing, search engines, PPC, affiliate partnerships and electronic advertising by actually doing it rather than reading about it.
A great benefit of having this site was it provided me the room to make mistakes and learn from them before I implemented things in my day job.
