I started my career as a derivatives specialist at Bankers Trust Company from 1993-1997. In 1997, I started PCM, my own hedge fund which grew to a maxium size of $440 million in assets under management. PCM was a mulit-strategy fund which followed strategies in equity statistical arbitrage, commodity yield roll capture, the currencies strategies, and fund arbitrage. In 2003, we returned our assets to investors as the alpha in each strategy had declined to single digit levels. Over the 1997-2003 timeframe, PCM compounded investor money at 26.5% return at a 13% standard deviation.
Erik started Wooster Asset Management in 2004 to exploit what is called the forward rate bias (FRB) anomaly. Simply put, the effect of the FRB is that currencies of high interest rate countries tend to appreciate against those of low interest rate currencies, which is contrary to classical economic theory. Wooster Asset Management specializes in how to capture this anomaly and its many complexities.
I specialize in strategies for exploiting the forward rate bias anomaly in the currency and interest rate markets.
