The merger of Wavetek Corporation and the Germany-based Wandel and Goltermann, Inc. formed Wavetek Wandel Goltermann in late 1998. WWG (now Acterna) became the second largest communications test equipment company in the world with revenues of over $450M. The wireless division represented roughly $30 million in revenue of which about 40% was in the Americas Region.
