He oversees all development, planning, launch and operations of the company's channel portfolio including the documentary network Docurama (currently available on Roku, iOS, Xbox, and select connected TVs) and the forthcoming fanboy network Comic Con TV, launching in Fall 2014.

Previously, Erick was SVP of Digital, where he oversaw the distribution of Cinedigm's 50,000+ hours of content in the digital ecosystem. He oversaw sales, client management, content strategy, development and operations across digital channels, including subscription and ad-supported video-on-demand, electronic sell-through, cable TV and IPTV.

Prior to that, Erick spearheaded digital business development efforts for New Video, leading to that company’s selection as the first iTunes video aggregation partner. Erick also managed releases for the A&E Home Entertainment line and the Docurama Films label, including over 20 Academy Award®-winning and nominated films.

Erick began his career in entertainment at Madstone Theaters/New Yorker Films, a vertically-integrated exhibitor, distributor and digital cinema pioneer, where he held positions in audience services and marketing. He also served as a lead technology trainer and combat medic in the United States Army Infantry.

Widely recognized in his field, Erick was named a 2014 Digital Driver by Home Media Magazine. He is a frequent moderator and speaker at industry events including the Sundance Film Festival, SxSW, AFM, and Independent Film Week, among others. Team Members: Erick Opeka

Through an exclusive aggregation arrangement with New Video, Sundance alumni filmmakers can now make their films available online to consumer markets via digital retail outlets from Apple, Google, Netflix, and Amazon, among others. The program is highly collaborative and allows filmmakers to retain ownership of their work and make independent decisions about strategies for each outlet. New Video will work closely with digital stores and filmmakers to reach each film's audience, while in turn, the Sundance Institute will endorse their availability through its own marketing and promotional efforts and through the vast social community developed over the course of the Institute’s 30-year history.
