Dr. Erick Thompson is a co-founder and partner of Interactive Knowledge Solutions LLC.
This company provides simple, smart and sustainable collaboration and knowledge management tools, processes, methods and strategies to help get work done. Current focus has been helping multinationals leverage existing tool sets with practical processes and interjecting Web 2.0 / Enterprise 2.0 methods where is makes sense. Building online support communities is especially hot these days as companies want to dramatically reduce costs by using what they already have while helping their workgroups and project teams work more effectively in a virtual environment.
Prior to Interactive Knowledge Solutions, Dr. Thompson was 2nd Vice President, Enterprise Knowledge Management for Travelers Insurance and St. Paul Companies. Prior still, Dr. Thompson established and led 3M’s Knowledge Transfer initiative headquartered in St. Paul, Minn.
It is Dr. Thompson's desire to bring his experiences of deploying collaboration and knowledge management solutions in pragmatic business contexts to bear for organizations that want to quickly use the brainpower of their firms to create a competitive advantage.
Dr. Thompson is the co-founder and past president of the Twin Cities Knowledge Management Forum. He is a member of several conference-planning committees, including BRAINTRUST Knowledge Management conference. He is a founding member of CPSquare Knowledge Management consortium, executive committee member and past chair of the Conference Board’s Learning and Knowledge Management Council and presently executive committee member and the membership chair of the Knowledge Leadership Forum, a leading peer group of KM pioneers.
