Sitting on the board of directors has quickly taught me there's a whole lot more to the choir than singing.
I sit on the Technology Committee with a particular interest in using our website and social media tools to communicate more effectively with our audience and to build community within the choir.

September 2006 — Present (2 years 11 months)
Joining TCWC is hands down one of the best things I've ever done. Singing in a choir is the embodiment of the concept of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Only since joining the choir have I really felt at home living in the Twin Cities.
We've performed at the Fitzgerald Theater and Orchestra Hall, with Ann Reed and Bruce Henry, and for audiences of hundreds to thousands.
My voice appears on the 2007 CD, TCWC LIVE! I also sing in ENCORE!, the TCWC's chamber ensemble.

October 2003 — Present (5 years 10 months)
I write, execute, and report on equipment qualifications (lab and manufacturing) as well as cleaning, software, and process validations. Our Validations group does everything but analytical method validation. Process validations are my favorite; I like seeing all the pieces come together and my production experience serves me well. I held the title of Associate Validation Engineer from May '06 to December '07.
I held the positions of Operator and then Lead Operator from October '03 to April '06. As a Lead Operator I lead a group of operators and temporaries in keeping a production line humming along. Trained them to do their jobs better and to work better as a team. I learned to trust my gut and I learned to balance trusting others' training with overestimating their common sense.
CIMA Labs specializes in orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) and oral transmucosal (OTM) drug delivery technologies. We make tablets melt in your mouth, not in your stomach.

September 2002 — Present (6 years 11 months)
I manage the publication of several websites with complete responsibility for content creation, site features, community engagement, and basic design and technical support.
http://swirlspice.com - Me, myself, and I.
http://cinna.mn - "32 flavors of Minnesota (and then some)"
I created cinna.mn to be a place for discussing the sometimes strange experience of being a person of color in schizophrenically progressive - but still very white - Minnesota and other minority experiences. cinna.mn debuted in October 2008.
The Dish, established in 2001, became a part of cinna.mn in December 2008. The Dish is a free, grassroots service to provide information about things of interest for queer women, especially queer women of color and friends, and to build community and connections. http://cinna.mn/dish
http://fresh.mn - "twincityblogging"
Writing on life in the Twin Cities. A continuation of my 3+ years of work at the Minneapolis Metblog. fresh.mn debuted in November 2008.
(Online Media industry)
April 2005 — October 2008 (3 years 7 months)
Wrote on life in the Twin Cities and wrangled a volunteer corps of 5-10 authors. I facilitated content creation and fostered community relationships both internal and external to the Minneapolis Metblog team. I consistently placed in the top 50 bloggers across the Metroblogging network of 50+ cities. Mostly, I just love talking about living here and finding like-minded individuals to do the same. Writing on this topic has inspired me to experience and enjoy this city in a totally different way.

April 2007 — April 2008 (1 year 1 month)
