As Database Manager at Capital Area Food Bank, my role is to maintain Raiser's Edge, our donor database, and analyze giving trends, as well as acknowledge donor gifts, coordinate direct mail and newsletter mailings to Food Bank contacts, and assist in planning donor events.
In addition to my main duties in development, I work closely with Volunteer Resources and Communications to further the mission of the Food Bank.
Outside of work, I serve on the board of the Association for Women in Communication - Austin Professional Chapter. I am the Arrangements Co-Chair as well as the Registration Committee Co-Chair for the 2010 Banner Brunch.

I gained experience in visual communication, AP style writing and editing, and public relations writing. During my sophomore year, I developed a PR plan to stop smoking on Texas State campus. In my junior year, I worked with a team to develop and deliver a media kit for Allies of Texas State, a campus organization for gay, lesbian, transexual and bisexual students and their allies. During my senior year, I organized and implemented a full PR campaign for Hays County Food Bank's "Turkeys Tackling Hunger 2007" program, which encourages residents of Hays County to donate food and money to assemble full Thanksgiving meals for hungry families.
