Patrick is a 1987 graduate of Cornell University, where he earned his BS in Industrial and Labor Relations, and a 1990 graduate of New York University's School of Law. He placed sixth in his class at Cornell and graduated with honors at New York University (Sol D. Kapelsohn Award for the highest excellence in writing in the field of labor law).
Patrick practiced management-side employment law from 1990 to 2000, working mainly for three of the nation's largest and well-known law firms, Kelley Drye & Warren, Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon, and Hughes, Hubbard & Reed. Patrick has represented some of the world's largest corporations, including Union Carbide, Pitney Bowes, Reader's Digest, Sumitomo Bank, Sanwa Bank, New York Hospital, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
While at Mudge Rose, Patrick assisted partner and former Federal District Court Judge Kenneth Conboy in Judge Conboy's capacity as the Election Appeals Master for the 1996 Teamster's national elections. He has also assisted editors in revising the leading labor law treatise, the American Bar Association's Developing Labor Law, and the leading employment law treatise, Schlei and Grossman's Employment Discrimination.
In 2001, Patrick launched the Employment Law Information Network (ELIN), the Internet's leading employment law portal. The site attracts thousands of HR professionals each month and delivers these corporate decision makers to the nation's leading employment law firms.
Patrick is a member of the New York State Bar and Pennsylvania Bar.
