I am currently the CTO & co-founder of Performable.
Previously, I was VP of Engineering of Lookery, where I led the development and operation of a cost-effective cloud-based ad targeting platform that handled billions of requests using Amazon Web Services.
Before Lookery, I spent my time transforming IBM collaborative product development efforts. I pioneered the usage of Blogs, Wikis, Electronic Meetings and Feed readers through their development, deployment and evangelization. The success of these projects led to their inclusion in different products under the Lotus brand.
I'm also an avid proponent and contributor of open source software. Some of the projects I have worked closely with are Project Voldemort, Apache Roller, Apache Abdera, Wordpress and Hadoop. In a recent past, I represented IBM or myself on many Web standards organizations like W3C, OASIS, IETF on projects such as SPARQL, RDFa, ODF and Atom.
I'm from Nicaragua, my wife is from Ecuador and people always confuse our two nationalities. Most of my offline time is taken up by my beautiful family with children.
Scalable Web Architectures: Python, Erlang, Amazon AWS. Big Data: Hadoop, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Structured Data. Open Source: advocate and developer.
