Founder, CTO at ZeroTurnaround

I've worked more than five years as a software engineer, specializing in Java and Web R&D. As the R&D lead of Webmedia I was responsible for developing projects like Aranea MVC, Aranea Web Integration, JSPWeaver and JavaRebel, most of which were conceived by me. For the last three years I have lead a team of engineers working on these (and other) projects.
I hold an M.Sc. degree from Tartu University and have been working there as a research fellow for the last three years while enrolled in graduate studies. My specialization there is in programming languages, virtual machines, types systems and formal verification methods. During my studies I have published two research articles and spoken at a number of seminars and conferences. I also have taught a number of subjects ranging from "Software Engineering" to "Advanced Functional Programming".
During my work at Webmedia, I have been strongly involved in building the community and evangelizing the projects we developed. As a result I have spoken at JavaZone, JavaPolis and TSS conferences as well as written a lot of blog entries at Aranea and ZeroTurnaround blogs. I also have a personal blog at http://dow.ngra.de/ and my various activities are aggregated at http://www.ekabanov.net/.
I am interested in working with people better than me, learning new things with the spirit of friendly competition.
