E. John Love’s Summary

Over 19 years experience in graphics and GUI design for video, print and interactive media, starting with my first job on the Emily Carr College/Knowledge Network educational television series, "Material and Form, back in 1989. I have practical experience in a variety of media and disciplines, and can bring a broad base of experience to many design projects. As a digital designer, I’ve been focusing on the Internet and software sectors since 1992, primarily with small, high-tech software and hardware developers who need an all-around creative person.

I am conversant with issues and techniques in graphic design, GUI and interaction design, usability, user support and documentation. I can talk to Sales and Marketing people, Engineers, and non-technical people in their own language, and am used to having my feet in different camps simultaneously. I’m technically proficient and experienced in common professional software design processes and terminology.

My past experience as an instructor also gives me strong communication, facilitation and leadership skills. My sense of humour and professional dedication help me to maintain high quality work even under challenging circumstances.

E. John Love’s Specialties:

As a career creative/design generalist, my ability to handle multiple responsibilities, shifting priorities and aggressive deadlines are all key skills. I can work with, understand, and communicate with software and hardware engineers, sales/marketing execs, admin staff, and other creative types effectively, in order to accomplish whatever goal is before me.
