Edward Merrin is a man who has held down a wide variety of jobs throughout his life. On a sabbatical from a job that took up most of his time, that of a Fire Science professor based out of Eugene, Oregon, Edward Merrin is taking advantage of a rare opportunity to truly find himself.
What better place to find yourself, thought Edward Merrin, than San Francisco, California? Edward Merrin is a San Francisco Bay ex-patriot, having spent many summers there with his grandparents. Today, Edward Merrin spends time researching, reading, writing, improving his Internet skills, and preparing for the next phase in his life.
A major part of Edward Merrin's new life is following the careers of the current San Francisco Giants. Edward Merrin had devoted his blog to what he calls the Edward Merrin Gallery of Baseball Heroes, a gallery of baseball players who have demonstrated superior playing capabilities. At first, this list included all of major league baseball players, but Edward Merrin has since whittled his list down to include only current San Francisco Giants players. Edward Merrin is a firm believer in the idea that there are enough stellar members on the San Francisco Giants to make up an entire dream team of baseball heroes.
Edward Merrin remains keenly interested in the fields of fire science and wild-land ecological management. He has studied in this field for many years, and finds it to be a challenging subject that is just now beginning to be understood.
Edward Merrin has worked as a researcher and scientist for the past 20 years, taking pains to cultivate a sense of duty and methodological precision. He has a keen eye for detail, and a committed work ethic.
