Edward Beuchert’s Experience

  • iPhone Application Developer

    JamWithIt.com

    (Computer Software industry)

    January 2009Present (11 months)

My first iPhone application is now available from Apple. It's an Internet listener app for WMFO (91.5 FM in Medford) that allows users to listen to the web stream, view the live playlist and access other promotional features for the station. Version 1.1 is now available for free from the iTunes App Store. Version 2.0 will include a "Tab Bar Controller" interface and seamless viewing of web content from within the application. To download it, just go to iTunes and search for WMFO (or click the link next to "Websites" up above *8^!)...

My second iPhone application is a much more sophisticated paid app called “Jam With It!” which will let users remix music live on their iPhone and iPod Touch.

I'm actively enrolled in the Apple iPhone Developer program and I've been working through the various SDK examples and documentation to learn all aspects of iPhone programming including Objective-C, the Cocoa Touch, Media, Core Services and Core OS APIs.

  • Public Service Director & Radio Show Host

WMFO Tufts Freeform Radio 91.5 FM

    (Computer Software industry)

    2004Present (5 years )

I host a weekly radio show on WMFO, 91.5 FM in Medford, Tufts Community Freeform Radio (wmfo.org). I actually have three different shows that I alternate between in my Friday 8 pm to 10 pm time slot, named "Plastic Sushi, Strawberries and Time," "Tears of the Gods" and "Plastic Strawberries." Each is a two hour "sound collage" that mixes together music that matches the weekly theme, plus audio clips from speeches, lectures, movies and TV shows. There are well over a hundred archived podcasts of previous shows in MP3 format posted on the show web sites:

    http://PlasticSushi.org
    http://TearsOfTheGods.org
    http://PlasticStrawberries.org

I also volunteer as WMFO's Public Service Director, processing, coordinating and maintaining all Public Service Announcements (PSAs) for the station.

Finally, I also help out with various other activities at the station, such as recording voiceovers for promos and audio engineering live bands...
