Besides the work I am doing from within my positions, I am actively reading and writing about the search industry. As a graduate student I conducted an extensive market research for the search engine marketing market in the Netherlands.

My research has been adapted with the industry and is considered a to be the first quality benchmark of the search industry in the Netherlands.

That gave me the opportunity to speak at some events. For instance I was a speaker at the Affiliate Dag in 2008, a large affiliate marketing event in the Netherlands.

In 2009 the Search Engine Strategies conference came to the Netherlands for the first time. I was honoured with opening the event with a presentation about an update of the market research I did.

Within the IAB Taskforce Search (Engine Marketing) I am responsible for Research & Development (together with Roy Huiskes).

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) in the Netherlands is the online advertising and interactive marketing industry branche organization.

The IAB has several Taskforces with the IAB Taskforce Search (Engine Marketing) being one of them. Objectives are to professionalize the market of search engine marketing in the Netherlands and creating more transparency and awareness for search engine marketing.
