I just finished up my Ph.D. in Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University. The emphasis of my work is doing Molecular Dynamics computer simulations of ion/solid interactions. While I expanded my knowledge in Chemistry in graduate school, I was able to pick up many IT and administration skills. I am the systems administrator of our groups instrument and office computers. We also have a small computational chemistry cluster which gives me experience with Linux administration and networking.
While my degrees are in chemistry, I have found that I have an extreme passion for all items of technology. I am an experienced user of Mac, Linux and PC computer systems and have progressive skills in Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro. Regardless of what type of job I find, my Ph.D has allowed me to develop self-discipline and the ability to work and think independently and creatively.

While I was in graduate school, I administered all our groups office and instrument computers. This gave me experience in troubleshooting problems on the Windows platform. I also implemented and maintain our group file server which runs on Windows Server 2003. Finally, I also implemented and maintain our computational cluster which runs a Linux operation system.
