From my experiences writing, producing and recording spoken word/electronic music CDs and creating The Ed Shepp Radio Experiment on WFMU, I have developed skill in both audio production and comedy writing. I'm interested in expanding my skill in both these areas, as well as extending my experience to voice acting.
I'm interested in projects involving narration, audio/media production (especially video collaborations), radio and writing, especially comedy writing. Feel free to contact me if you are planning such a project or are looking for someone to work with on something related.

April 2002 — Present (6 years 4 months)
I've been recording and releasing CDs since 2002. Generally I write and produce them myself, although I have done some cover versions. I've released (formally and informally) 6 CDs since, the discography of which can be found here:

The styles of the CDs are eclectic but share common threads: an electronic sound; lots of heavy filtering to create interesting effects; an often surreal approach; frequently spare arrangements. The pieces range from acapella spoken word pieces to instrumental songs to more conventional, "pop" songs. For the cover versions that I've done (eg, my recent EP of Madonna covers), I've put my own unique imprint on the sound.
Pieces from my CDs have appeared on various radio stations, podcasts and music blogs, including WFMU, WXYC, WXDU and fluxblog.org. My CD Five was give a glowing review in Vice magazine in 2005.

June 2005 — June 2007 (2 years 1 month)
I produced The Ed Shepp Radio Experiment from 6/05 to 6/07. Essentially I performed every role in creating the show from beginning to airing. I selected the topics, chose material to narrate and music, booked and interviewed guests, processed and mixed all the audio and oversaw the board during broadcast. I also made graphics for the playlists pages and created the playlists. The only step I was not involved in was editing the show for podcast.
The show's format was eclectic and fluid. It usually revolved around a theme, but there were exceptions. Usually I narrated articles or selections from books for text portions, but I also wrote original material as well (the holiday shows are perfect examples of this, and also exemplify the style of "radio drama" I developed while producing the show).
I primarily used Adobe Audition to produce the show, while also at times using Wavelab and Cubase.
Archives of the shows can be found at www.wfmu.org/playlists/es

I wrote a column on American poltics/culture (called American Life) for Rote Fabrik's 10-issues yearly publication. It was translated into German before printing.

I trained with Marla Kirban for voice acting.

My time at Florida State was an amazing experience which taught me a lot and provided me with incredible memoir material. I still cherish memories of my engaging professors, my vibrant friends and the Westwood Publix.
