Earl Cox is a publishing industry veteran of over two decades.
As President and Chief Executive of Earl Cox & Associates Worldwide and Writersandpoets.com, LLC, Mr. Cox acts as a literary manager and publishing consultant for authors seeking agent representation or guidance in promoting, marketing, and distributing their books. Mr. Cox also offers book coaching services and assistance in developing strong non-fiction book proposals that attract deals from major publishers.
For nine years, Mr. Cox worked at John Wiley & Sons, Inc., including serving as a National Accounts Manager. During his tenure at Wiley, Mr. Cox was responsible for mass retail, and national wholesale accounts. In this capacity, he had direct responsibility for selling a number of hugely successful business books including the national bestsellers Against the Gods and Why Should White Guys Have All the Fun? In addition, he managed the nationwide sales and promotion of Wiley’s African American and multicultural books.
In 2004, Mr. Cox launched Booksthatclick.com, an urban, grassroots marketing web site and catalog designed to reach the African American reader.
A former faculty member of the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies' Center for Publishing, Mr. Cox speaks frequently at industry seminars and publishing events. He has been quoted in a variety of trade publications, including Publishers Weekly, Black Issues Book Review and Folio Magazine.
