My educational and experiential opportunities have prepared me for furthering my work in the fields of physical and sexual violence. I began working in the field of intimate partner violence in February of 2003 to present with certifications in the assessment and facilitation of the Duluth Model of Power & Control adopted by the State of Florida. In June of 2004 I entered into the field of sexual offender counseling, gaining certification through Ohio University’s Sexual Offender Treatment Certification. I continue this work now affiliated with the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (May 2005). In addition, I have provided psychoeducation and adaptive coping skills development with both men and women in addressing personal acts of anger and substance abuse, while working with socially maladaptive adolescences for numerous reasons. I an currently affiliated with the Okaloosa-Walton Domestic Violence Coordinating Counsel and the Sexual Assault Interagency Counsel. Further experience involves public speaking engagements with the University of West Florida as a presenter at the first annual Parent University Conference (Feb. 10, 2007) and as a guest lecturer for Forensic Psychology undergraduates on sexual offenders in April of 2004. In 2006, I served as the keynote speaker for Sexual Assault Awareness Day, previously educated area students, faculty, and parents on the dangers of on-line predators. I participated as a Batterer’s Intervention panel member (October 27, 2006) for the Okaloosa-Walton Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, Domestic Violence Awareness Month Conference as well as educating victims of domestic violence on the pattern of intimate partner violence at a locale women’s shelter (March 2006). I also presented on the fundamental differences between intimate partner violence and anger management at the Walton County Collaborative Interagency Meeting.
