Communications Specialist at H&R Block
Eugene, Oregon Area
As a communications specialist at H&R Block, I manage the tracking and measurement of national, regional and local media results as well as the internal reporting of the results with an online, daily clipping report and various metrics reports. I also assist the team by writing press releases, facilitating interviews and developing messaging.
Before joining H&R Block in Nov. 2008, I graduated from the University of Oregon. I earned a B.S. in Journalism, with a public relations emphasis and a communications minor as a student in the UO School of Journalism & Communication.
While at the University of Oregon, I worked as a Student Ambassador during my sophomore and junior years and as a Peer Leadership Consultant during my senior year.
As a Student Ambassador for two years, I gave campus tours, represented the University of Oregon at recruiting events, and communicated with prospective students via the telephone to guide them through the college application and entrance processes.
In my role as a Peer Leadership Consultant, I provided consultations with students about leadership development opportunities on campus, planned the President's Leadership Symposium, and developed and facilitated Leaders of Oregon - a new, leadership recognition award program.
