Growing up with video games and striving to stay in-tune with the industry has given me a good ear for news. In high school I spent all four years on the Journalism team; three of which I wrote as an editor, and my senior year as Editor in Chief. I oversaw a massive redesign and new distribution campaign that had our local school newspaper going from being handed out to 600 students a month, to being delivered to several thousand people every month, tucked inside of the local city newspaper.
My passion today stays with all forms of journalism and everything that comes with it.
Microsoft Office suite, Adobe CS4, the journalistic process, AP style, MLA style, marketing initiatives, customer service, creative design.
New Media, social media and business integration into social media, micro-blogging, all new technology, the video games industry, activism, writing, editing, independent movies, local business, good coffee.
Through my various activism endeavors and event organizing capabilities, I have been able to gain national and even global attention to my hometown of Wichita. During a recent crisis in Wichita, I organized an event that brought our community together in a show of solidarity through a candlelight vigil. That event granted me an interview with the New York Times, USA Today, Good Morning America, a dozen local publications, and a live interview on BBC Radio.
