Dr. Stall has been at the forefront of geriatric care innovations even before completing his geriatric fellowship in 1988.
In 1987, he established the Geriatric Health Care Discussion Group, a listserv to enhance communication between health and human services professionals involved with senior care.
The concept paper GERINET http://geridoc.net/gerinet.html was written in 1988.
His educational web page Geriatrics for Patients, Caregivers, and Health Professionals http://geridoc.net/ appeared on the WWW in 1995, logging over 100000 hits since that time.
In 1995, 1996, and 1999 respectively, his Hospice, Long-Term Care and Nursing Home Medical Director listservs were created.
Media experiments including Videoinservices and hosting a call-in radio show "What Should You Expect At Your Age? A Lot!" http://whatshouldyouexpect.com/ on geriatric care issues took place from 2004-2005.
He is a valued resource for local and national media, quoted or profiled in numerous articles and columns.
Dr. Stall has extensive speaking experience to diverse lay and professional groups in varied settings.
His main professional mission is to create senior-friendly, senior-smart, and senior-competent communities using a collaborative, grassroots approach. In 2004, he coined the term Grassroots Geriatrics™ http://grassrootsgeriatrics.com, symbolizing the critical role older patients, caregivers, volunteer organizations, houses of worship, local businesses and educational institutions can play to improve the quality of health and living for seniors throughout the world.
More information on Dr. Stall's latest efforts, a seminar/health education program entitled "Stay In Control of Your Health!", and a web-based Virtual Geriatric Consult (try it out at Senior Self-Assessment http://seniorselfassessment.com/), along with requests for speaking engagements and interviews, may be obtained by contacting him at drstall@stallgeriatrics.com.
