Responsible for all art direction/user interface work for Break.com. Helped Break.com grow its traffic of a minimum of 50% by focusing on usability rather than pure functionality. What use is functionality if the user is doesn’t know how to use it or even worse, doesn’t realize it’s even there.
Became lead designer for other Break.com properties such as Chickipedia, AllLeftTurns.com and Mademan.com I was responsible in creating a brand image, a friendly interface and coding a front end that was optimized in every way possible. Chickipedia.com became one of the most popular wiki destinations and #5,941 on Alexa.
Worked with a group of talented designers to ensure a clear message as well to entice and engage the user for all initiatives with Break.com and its related properties by creating interface standards.
Worked with the developers in integrating all front-end code with the middle tier and backend.
Integrated frontend with both PHP & .Net
Created, maintained and enforced user interface standards with all Break.com properties.
Managed various projects from beginning to end. For example, MadeMan.com, I wrote a 80+ product requirement document, created the brand, performed much of the design work and manage a team of talented designers, coordinated the front end build with our XHTML vendor, fixed CSS/XHTML issues and help integrate within Drupal with our PHP developers, oversaw the QA process and helped launch it.
Produced innovative ways in viewing videos such as the first online video slow motion functionality and stretchable players.
Responsible for many product development initiatives for all Break.com properties and wrote many product requirement documents including technical/functional specifications.
Developed with various CMS systems such as Wordpress and Drupal.
Designed user interfaces and hand coded templates with knowledge of SEO optimization. H1 tags, alt tags, title tags, meta data and a minimal use of graphic text.
