I trained as a doctor at Nottingham University in the UK. I've worked for the NHS, Cambridge University, Otago University and I'm currently a Research Fellow at the National Institute for Health Innovation at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
My current research projects include:
- electronic drug adherence monitoring
- evaluation of clinical decision support systems
- adoption of HL7, CEN 13606 and openEHR standards
- electronic Case-Based Learning
- social networking and public health informatics
I also founded a medical e-learning development company called New Media Medicine Ltd. NMM Ltd create high quality 3D anatomical and biomedical animations and interactive Flash learning modules for healthcare workers. We also operate a social networking website for doctors and medical students with 56,000 members.

We offer e-detailing, medical animation and e-learning course development to outside companies and we are developing our own network and e-learning portfolio for health professionals.
Our portal for healthcare professionals has over 56,000 registered members and 1 million page views and 100,000 unique visitors per month.
