A 25-year veteran of the communications field and an accomplished public relations strategist and trainer seeking opportunities to help leading organizations use innovative approaches to solve challenging problems. Over the past decade, have designed and implemented strategies to build public confidence in such issues as manned space flight to Mars (NASA), the need to change heart attack prevention strategies (Society for Heart Attack Prevention and Eradication), the importance of reforestation efforts (Healthy Forest Alliance) and countless corporate initiatives.
An entrepreneur at heart, established public relations consultancy in 2003 that has become a model for how to build a virtual public relations agency utilizing independent PR talent. Before establishing DPK Public Relations, was the general manager of one of the Southwest’s largest independent integrated marketing communications agencies. Earlier, practiced high tech public relations and public affairs for firms in Portland, Oregon and Pittsburgh.
A former broadcast journalist who covered many of the most important events of the 1980s and 1990s in Chicago and at the network level, am frequently engaged to serve as a trainer in media interview and presentation skills.
