My first break in LA production came two years after graduating from the USC Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program when Joss Whedon hired me to score Buffy the Vampire Slayer for 20th Century Fox/Mutant Enemy. Since then I've scored 8 seasons of television series and over 30 films, including award-winning features, documentaries and short subjects. Some of my high-profile credits include the films Big Fat Liar, Stealing Harvard, The Skulls III and I-60: Episodes of the Road and the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Duck Dodgers, Miracles and Day Break (as composer and additional music). Honors include the Gold Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Film Music (2008 honoree) and 5 Gold Medals for Musical Excellence from the Park City Film Music Festival, Best Use of Score Nomination from The Film & TV Music Academy and co-composed the Duck Dodgers episode honored with an Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Television Production.
My first score album, Expressing the Inexpressible, was released through Mikael Carlsson’s MovieScore Media Shop, iTunes and CDBaby. Critics have hailed the CD as “Excellent,” “Highly Recommended,” “Skillful Writing,” “Fabulous” and “An Addictive Album.” In addition to this score album, I have produced and written arrangements for pop albums, including three albums with Jane Wang Beck incorporating traditional Tibetan chants with a mix of pop, rock and world music.
Beyond scoring, I orchestrate, conduct, arrange, write new music and songs and mock up scores. I play guitar, piano, trumpet and an assortment of percussion and wind instruments. For each score, something new is added to my collection of live and sampled instruments.

While my passion is music and film, I am fascinated with astronomy and deep space photos, such as NASA’s picture of the day and the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope’s image of the month. I read, draw, sodoku and travel. My studio is carbon-neutral and I recently kicked the bottled water habit by using SIGG products.
