Doug Felteau’s Summary

Passionate knowledge worker with solid practical experience in all aspects of IT infrastructure, security and management. Using gained skills I have transformed network architectures at several companies promoting faster and more robust connections. Utilizing my passion for security I have developed policies and provided the architecture needed so companies can improve the security posture.

My proudest accomplishment included convincing management at a smaller company that security was indeed important and then selling my vision for security and implementing the architecture while teaching the employees the value of security. Using defense in depth in addition to communication and teaching the staff, that company did not had a virus inside our corporate firewall for over five years! The knowledge that we were not infected by Blaster, Slammer, Sobig, MyDoom or Sasser simply brings a smile to my face!

I am also proud of implementing complete disk encryption at the world's largest home improvement retailer in the world meaning I had to deal with a scale I had previously never dealt with before. Considering the average of a couple laptops being stolen every week, the cost savings of not having to pay for credit monitoring services because the entire disk is encrypted has many times paid for the solution!
