My passion – and my area of expertise – is building web startups. I'm currently working on several projects. Previously, I've worked as VP of Engineering at Huddler.com and as CEO/CTO at CyberSense.
I am well versed in both the technical and managerial aspects of fast-paced, agile software development. Having constructed a myriad of solutions for many different companies, I understand the business, management and technical processes necessary to get software done on time and on budget.
Skills Include:
• Front-end Development: (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX
• Back-end Development: PHP, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Smarty
• System Administration: FreeBSD, Linux/CentOS, shell scripting & automation
• Web Marketing: SEO, SEM, Adwords/PPC, HTML Email
• Web Analytics: Google Analytics, Apache access_log analysis, in-house analytics
• Software + Systems Architecture & Planning
• Technical Team Management, incl. Technical Hiring, Motivation & Management
I maintain a bliki (blog+wiki) at www.startupcto.com, which contains a brain dump of the practical, hands-on lessons that I've learned while developing and marketing web properties.

Huddler is a web startup that aims to revolutionize product research/review on the Internet. The company is building a series of 'Huddles' - focused research sites on a variety of products, such as cell phones, green products, cars, computers, and the like.
As VP of Engineering, I helped develop the site and make sure everything is running smoothly. My day-to-day work involved a lot of development (both front-end and back-end) as well as web marketing, business strategy and system operations.

CyberSense was a web development company I founded in 1997, and sold in 2005. We focused on work building web properties startups and high-growth companies, doing business strategy planning, site development and web marketing.
As CEO and CTO, my task was to keep both our business and our client's businesses growing. That meant working with clients to help them set growth plans & strategy, doing hands-on technical and marketing work, and managing our five-person internal development team to help everyone hit their goals.
