January 1996 — December 2007 (12 years )
Wrote/edited nearly 3,000 resumes and cover letters for clients in all 50 states and 23 countries. Now focus on writing and speaking to reach wider audiences.
(Marketing and Advertising industry)
1994 — 1996 (2 years )
Worked on client project as Webmaster for FedEx.com from 1995 (six Web pages total!) to 1996 (many more Web pages). Still meet my old boss for lunch -- you should, too, if you want to stay networked.
MA Program , Education , 1990 — 1992
Completed all requirements for a Master of Arts in Teaching except dissertation. Found the courses on teaching about as useful as courses on swimming that asked you to discuss theories of swimming, write papers about swimming, and maybe dip your toes in the water, but never actually swim.
BA , James Madison College: International Relations; German minor , 1983 — 1988
Still have Vietnam-like flashbacks of all the bluebook tests and term papers at James Madison College. All we did was write. Now, I'm grateful for the muscle memory it built up, sort of like how Daniel-san learned karate moves by waxing Mr. Miyagi's cars.
